Ballpark
The Blue Wahoos play the home games on their schedule at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium, which opened in 2012. Located next to Pensacola Bay, the ballpark offers one of the best views in Minor League Baseball. Pensacola Bayfront Stadium has an official capacity of 5,038, making it smallest park in the Southern League.
No Southern League Championships
The Blue Wahoos franchise hasn’t had much success so far. In its inaugural season, the club finished seventh in the 10-team league, followed by an eighth-place finish in 2013. The team has yet to make the playoffs.
Pensacola Blue Wahoos Roster
Even if the Blue Wahoos haven’t had a winning season, they’ve often made news headlines for the play of Billy Hamilton. The speedy outfielder played 50 games with Pensacola in 2012, stealing 51 bases. Hamilton swiped a total of 155 bases in that record-breaking season, which he split between Pensacola and Bakersfield. Due to the team’s short history, the all-time Blue Wahoos roster has only had a few notable Major League Baseball players, including Tony Cingriani and Didi Gregorius.
Spring Training
During Spring Training, members of the Blue Wahoos share Goodyear Ballpark with other players from the Cincinnati Reds system. The 10,311-capacity park in Goodyear, AZ, opened in 2009. It’s also the Spring Training home of the Cleveland Indians.
