Although Aaron Judge’s 2024 season might have been overshadowed by the all-time numbers that Shohei Ohtani put up, the Yankees slugger still cruised to a unanimous American League MVP award — his second over just the past three years.
Judge’s prowess at the plate in ’24 was monumental: He had a career-high 144 runs batted in and his 58 home runs were just four shy of the 62 he hit during his record-breaking 2022 season. Judge also paced the league with a wins above replacement of 10.8 and an outstanding OPS of 1.159. While there are lots of statistics that bear discussion, Judge is synonymous with the long ball — so, it’s only right for us to take a deeper dive into his home runs.
As per MLB’s Statcast, here’s a look at Aaron Judge’s 10 longest home runs of the 2024 MLB season.
10. 436 feet: June 11, 2024, vs. Kansas City
With his Yankees leading 7-0 in the seventh inning of a June 11 game in Kansas City, Judge jumped all over the first pitch he saw from Royals reliever Nick Anderson. The righty offered up a curveball in the middle of the zone, and Judge connected, driving the baseball 436 feet into the Kauffman Stadium fountain in left-center field. The two-run home run, Judge’s 25th of the season, left the slugger’s bat at 112.1 mph.
9. 441 feet: April 28, 2024, vs. Milwaukee
Of Judge’s 58 regular-season home runs in 2024, two came on the road in Milwaukee — and they took place on back-to-back days in April. The longest of these, hit on April 28, came on a first-inning, full-count fastball from Tobias Myers. Judge turned around the pitch, which was on the outer half of the plate, and drove 441 feet into the party deck in left-center field of American Family Field. With an exit velocity of 115.9 mph, the home run ranks as Judge’s second-hardest-hit long ball of the campaign.
8. 444 feet: July 21, 2024, vs. Tampa Bay
When your team’s getting blown out at home, there’s nothing like a home run to energize the crowd. That’s exactly what Judge delivered on July 21 in the Bronx. With the Yankees trailing the Rays 5-0, and two runners on base, Judge jumped all over a sweeper from Jason Adam and drilled the ball 444 feet. The towering shot, which left Judge’s bat at 112.6 mph, landed deep in the left field bleachers. This was Judge’s 35th home run of the campaign, delivered more than a week before the first of August.
7. 445 feet: September 15, 2024, vs. Boston
The third-longest home run that Judge hit at Yankee Stadium in 2024 came on September 15 against his club’s American League East rival. With chants of “MVP” filling the air, Judge connected with a fastball from Kutter Crawford and sent the ball into orbit. A few moments after it left the eventual MVP’s bat at 112.1 mph, the baseball smashed into the batter’s eye — a whopping 445 feet from home plate. The home run was Judge’s 53rd of the season … but not his longest against the Red Sox.
6. 456 feet: April 14, 2024, vs. Cleveland
Of the 10 home runs on this list, the earliest came at Cleveland’s Progressive Field on April 14. With two runners on in the third inning, Judge smashed a low sweeper from Guardians lefty Logan Allen. The baseball left Judge’s bat at 114 mph and landed more than a dozen rows deep into the left field bleachers. The 456-foot blast, Judge’s third of the campaign, came against a pitch that registered just 79.2 mph — the third-slowest pitch on which Judge homered in 2024.
5. 464 feet: June 1, 2024, vs. San Francisco
Giants starter Logan Webb had an All-Star season in 2024, but he’d probably like a do-over on the first-inning pitch he threw to Judge at home on the first day of June. Webb’s changeup stayed low in the zone, but Judge had no trouble connecting with an exit velocity of 115.7 mph — his third-highest home run EV of the year. The baseball landed deep in the seats in left-center field, 464 feet from home plate, giving Judge his 21st long ball of the season.
4. 467 feet: May 15, 2024, vs. Minnesota
Judge was no stranger to first-inning home runs in 2024, and the longest of these came on May 15 at Target Field. The Yankees star crushed a first-pitch fastball from Twins starter Pablo López, connecting with an exit velocity of 113 mph. The ball left the field of play in a hurry, promptly landing in the ballpark’s upper deck in left field. The 467-foot blast was the 11th of the season for Judge — and, interesting, his lone long ball against Minnesota in ’24.
3. 470 feet: July 26, 2024, vs. Boston
Judge has hit plenty of baseballs over Fenway Park’s Green Monster throughout the years, but his longest home run in Boston in 2024 was to center field, not left field. Judge turned around a cutter from Zack Kelly and drove the ball 470 feet to the base of the video board in straightaway center. The home run, which came on July 26, was Judge’s 36th of the season and had an exit velocity of 114.4 mph.
2. 473 feet: May 9, 2024, vs. Houston
Yankees fans got to enjoy plenty of excitement at Yankee Stadium in 2024, including a memorable blast from Judge on May 9. Houston’s Ryan Pressly left a changeup on the inner half of the plate that Judge turned around in a hurry. The baseball left Judge’s bat at 115.7 mph and soared 473 feet into one of the party decks in left-center field. It was his ninth home run of 2024 and the sixth-longest home run hit in the major leagues in ’24.
1. 477 feet: August 2, 2024, vs. Toronto
Judge’s 40th home run of 2024 came in fine form. Not only did the blast give the slugger his third career 40-home run season, but it also held up as his longest of the year — and the third-longest hit by any major leaguer in ’24. The towering shot was hit off Toronto’s Kevin Gausman at Yankee Stadium on August 2. It left Judge’s bat at 117.5 mph — his hardest-hit home run of the season — and landed deep in the left field bleachers, 477 feet from home plate. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this was the longest home run of the year at The Stadium.
