Parking a vehicle around Wrigley Field for a Cubs game tends to be pricey, but browsing your options in advance is a good way to save money. There are several official Cubs parking lots around the ballpark, most of which are no more than a few blocks from Wrigley. You can expect to pay between $45 and $60 to park for a Cubs game.
If you’re willing to walk farther between your vehicle at the ballpark, you can knock a lot off the price of parking. A lot of these lots and garages, including those at 3224 N. Halsted St. and 655 W. Irving Park Rd., offer parking in the $20 to $25 range. You’ll need to be prepared to walk about 15 minutes to the ballpark. There are a few other parking options that have their drawbacks. While you’ll see local residents who offer parking in their driveways, the rates tend to be steep. Free parking is available on some streets around Wrigley, but many of these spots have two-hour time limits, which won’t give you enough for the game.
Public transit is always an option to consider. The Chicago Transit Authority Red Line runs north/south through the city and the Addison Station is adjacent to Wrigley Field. You can expect the train to be filled with baseball fans before and after Cubs games. Incidentally, if you’re planning to visit Guaranteed Rate Field during your stay in Chicago, you can take the Red Line to the Sox-35th Station.
