If the saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” is true, a visit to Parkview Field is sure to help you steer clear from any medical center. While the TinCaps offer an extensive menu, most notable is the aptly named Apple Cart concession stand, located on the first base concourse. Here, you can get a variety of apple-themed treats — from the simple, such as a plain apple, to the exotic apple wontons. Rounding out the appleicious good time are the apple dumping, apple crisp, apple pie, apple cheesecake, caramel apples, candy apples and applesauce. Thirsty? How about apple juice, punch or cider? Many of the apple desserts are served in a collectible TinCaps plastic helmet bowl, too.
But the apple snacks are best left for dessert — unless you’ve got a really sweet tooth, in which case you might want to try them pre- and post-dinner. And speaking of dinner, Parkview Field offers a full menu of typical ballpark food — nachos, hot dogs, popcorn and the like, but also some other selections worth trying. These include a giant smoked turkey leg, barbecued ribs, chicken breasts and healthy side salads.
Groups lucky enough to watch the action from the Treetops Rooftop Party Area will get an impressive menu that changes every three innings. While this section’s menu can change, fans can get treated to such tasty eats as chicken wings, rib tips, pulled pork sandwiches and more, plus sides including salad, baked beans and fresh fruit.
If you’re in the mood for some adult beverages, the Granite City Home Plate Bar is located on the concourse behind … you guessed it, home plate. Here, you can get a wide selection of beer and other alcoholic drinks.
